You may have come across several errors while using your computer. Page fault in nonpaged area is one of these errors that appears on BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). This error occurs when your computer is requesting for a page of memory in order to proceed, but that page is not available. Most of the times, the reason behind this error is faulty hardware which includes (RAM, Hard drive). Softwares generally have nothing to do with this error. However, it’s possible that some software tried accessing the non-paged area and changed or removed some file that windows was looking for. But you don’t need to worry since this happens very rarely.
Now that you have understood the cause, let’s discuss some possible solutions to fix this type of error.
REBOOTING IN LAST KNOWN GOOD SETTINGS
The simplest solution for this type of error is rebooting your computer in last known good configuration. To do so, restart your computer. Once you see your motherboard’s logo on your screen, press F8. After that you’ll see a page with different options including start windows normally, safe mode and safe mode with networking, last known good configuration and others.
Select last known good configuration and wait for the restart.
CHECKING PAGE ERRORS THROUGH CHKDSK COMMAND
If the above method didn’t work then you should check your disk. For that you need to follow below mentioned steps.
Open command prompt by pressing windows + R key together and type cmd in the field. After that type chkdsk (check disk) in command prompt. Windows will check your disk for errors and if it finds any error in your disk then windows might restart to scan all those files that are locked or are in use by OS. After your error is displayed, just run the command prompt again and type in chkdsk/F which means we are telling chkdsk to fix the issues. Fixing issues might take some time, so sit back and relax till then.
If you still find page fault in non-paged area error after following all above steps then the last option left is to test your ram.
